2008 Awards & Achievements
NOW Foods was chosen as one of Chicago's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
 This annual competition is sponsored by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR). The 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For awards honor Chicago area companies that recognize employees as their greatest asset. The NABR explains that the winning companies are companies that "work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value and business results through their policies and Best Practices in human resource management. The selection, recognition and awarding of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For allows businesses to showcase these policies and Best Practices and demonstrate why each of them in an ideal place for employees to work."  NOW Honored at White House Ceremony
On Tuesday May 20th, President George Bush and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez presented NOW International with the Presidential “E” Award for Excellence in Exporting. Created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961, the Presidential “E” award is the highest honor that the federal government can give to any American company or organization that has made significant contributions to the increase of American exports.  EIGHTEEN VITY AWARDS! 2008 brought NOW the most Vity Awards we have ever received. The winners in each category are based on responses from a random poll of readers who were asked to identify their top-selling dietary supplement products by category. NOW Foods is honored to receive so many Vity awards for 2008. Whole Foods Magazine, 2008 Natural Choice Awards NOW was recently named honored as the “Best Full Line of Supplements” in Whole Foods Magazine's annual Natural Choice Awards – published April 2008. Determined exclusively by retailers, the Natural Choice Awards are conducted annually to honor the best selling products in 12 categories, as well as the retailer's choice for best full line of supplements. While NOW has previously been honored for single supplements, this is the first time NOW has been honored for it's complete line. Every award is special and being recognized as the retailer's brand of choice means a lot to us, as it comes directly from retailers.
NOW Foods named “Corporate Hero”
 NOW was recently rated as a “Corporate Hero” in the latest printing of a book Entitled. The Better World Shopping Guide , by Ellis Jones (www.betterworldshopper.org). This book evaluated various businesses in 73 categories; ranking them on an A to F grade scale based primarily on social and environmental responsibility criteria. The author used over 16 independent resources that evaluate a company's business practices. A company in each category that displays “the things that put a company head and shoulders above the rest” is named the Corporate Hero. Conversely, a company that displays “the things that land a company squarely at the bottom of the rankings” is exposed as a “Corporate Villain.” In the Vitamin category, NOW was named as the Corporate Hero. This offers further proof that our efforts to support the environment and help those in need are being recognized.
 Neil Levin Receives NPA Champion Award
Recently, one of our own, Neil Levin , was selected to receive the Natural Product Association's prestigious Champion Award. As NOW's Nutrition Education Manager and Truth Advocate, Neil is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, a nutrition educator, and product formulator. In addition, Neil has become nationally-recognized for his honest defense of the industry. By closely monitoring how nutrition is portrayed in the media, Neil uses his scientific and nutritional knowledge to respond to false, negative, and misleading press. He has published hundreds of responses, many of which are posted on his website, honestnutrition.com. This is a tremendous honor, and we are proud of his contributions to both NOW and the natural products industry. The NPA will present Neil with the 2008 Champion Award at this year's Natural Marketplace in Las Vegas.

The winners in each category are based on responses from a random poll of readers who were asked to identify their top-selling dietary supplement products by category. Business Achievement Award - Efforts on Behalf of the Industry

April 10th, 2007- NOW has long been a major supporter of the health food industry. We have staff members as well as our top executives who speak with government officials at the local, state and national levels. Because of our dialogue with congressmen in Washington and our financial support for projects that help the industry, NOW has been given this Business Achievement Award by Nutrition Business Journal.

Many efforts have been made by NOW to educate the public about nutrition, but a recent project called NOW University has caught the eye of Nutrition Business Journal. A nutritional course was developed here based on the book 7 Syndrome Healing written by Marcia Zimmerman and Jayson Kroner. This is a great way for health conscious people to learn about nutritional values that help them lead a healthier life.
Bronze Medal - Growth in Large Business

NOW Health Group was recognized for its outstanding growth at the Nutrition Business Journal (NBJ) Summit, held in Dana Point, CA, July 26-28. NOW was awarded the Bronze Medal in the “Growth in Large Business” category. The award was in recognition of growth that was more than twice the industry average. Company president Al Powers accepted the award in front of an audience of industry peers and ingredient suppliers.

Natural Legacy Award - Elwood Richard

On March 25th, 2006, NOW Founder and Chairman Elwood Richard was honored with Natural Foods Merchandiser Magazine's biennial Natural Legacy Award. This prestigious honor was presented to Elwood in recognition for his lifetime of contribution to the Natural Products industry. Over the course of his nearly 50 year career, Elwood's vision, innovation, passion and dedication have helped establish many of the industry's quality and manufacturing standards, as we know them today.
Earth Flag for Business
DuPage County Board
On November 15th, 2006, Illinois's DuPage County Board presented NOW Foods with the Earth Flag for Business. This award recognizes socially responsible businesses who exemplify an ongoing commitment to the environment. NOW's efforts include extensive in-house recycling, waste reduction programs, volunteer-based community service and environmental education for its employees. NOW is the first ‘for-profit' business in DuPage County to earn the right to fly the Earth Flag.
The Earth Flag for Business is the only program of its kind in the United States, and is funded by DuPage County for the purpose of promoting and recognizing environmental sustainability. S.C.A.R.C.E. (School and Community Assistance for Recycling & Compositing Education) administers the DuPage County Environmental Education Program. read more on Earth Flag

Only five of the numerous submissions in each category advanced to the final round of voting, and we're proud to have one of our products as a finalist.
